Caro Andrea (candidato sindaco di Rimini),
ho appreso con piacere tramite i quotidiani locali del tuo incontro con la marineria riminese. Con sincerità devo però dirti che avrebbe dovuto essere un'iniziativa pubblica, anche in relazione alla centralità che tu stesso riconosci al rapporto (teoricamente imprescindibile) tra Rimini e il mare.
Senza dilungarmi in quest'occasione in inutili recriminazioni per la quasi assoluta assenza della politica del nostro governo riminese su questo tema, se non in maniera puntuale su particolari necessità, spesso più di immagine o tornaconto privato che di progettualità, mi permetto invece di avviare con te e con gli altri candidati sindaci, e più in general with all those who live it every day the sea, for business or pleasure, a real public debate on this (non) relationship. If, as I believe and argument, the sea is a common good, indeed, the common good of the environment of a coastal city, then the banks must be vacated and made available, work defended and supported (starting the interests of employees for a leftist party), sports and cultural practices promoted and financed. In short, for points.
Access to the sea:
- open to all new dock gates;
- to allow the walkway along the harbor front (now barred from the Club Nautico and the Consortium blue line);
- pedestrianize the waterfront and cut obsolete and unnecessary visual barriers;
- complete pedestrian connection (up to Tiberius' Bridge) along the right side of portocanale and make decent
- eliminate or at least limit events "advertising" on the square Boscovich and beach nearby;
- protect the few free beaches (other than as well as determined by national regulations);
- providing for a multi-year financial plan for the acquisition of private beaches, to be made free (be careful in this key tourism industries).
Work at sea:
- require companies to respect workers' rights, of all the workers! (Remembering that Rimini was not that wonderful place which is the covered market for fish, and related sensory pleasures, without the hard work of fellow North Africans and Lampedusa);
- speeding up the administrative process for the reorganization of the port;
- support fishermen in their battles for the protection of coastal environments at local, national, EU (quality water, beach nourishment work, regulations on fishing, etc.).
- promoting vocational training for trades of the sea;
- support new craft enterprises.
Living the sea:
- reactivate or start school projects dedicated to sailing, swimming, rowing,
- Supporting sailing clubs and sports related to the sea;
- increase the number of slipways and launch for small boats;
- revive and update sailing events of national scope and international (like the Rimini-Rimini-Corfu) and to distance themselves from unnecessary and destructive manifestations of voyeurism water (the "Lolli case" should have learned something even from a ethical point of view cultural?) or VIP-sporting
- support cultural initiatives linked to the sea (Association lugsails, museum collections and library services, meetings and events, etc.)..
emphasize that some of these proposals would not require any financial investment, but planning, synergy, determination.
last idea, I think also of great media impact, would be to establish the first in Europe "Blue Sunday", prohibiting the operation of private motor coastal waters (at least within 1 mile from the coast, leaving channels for access to course ports).
I believe that discussing specific issues, and initiating at any of these, or others, Rimini could "win back the sea" or comunque permettere ai nostri figli e ai nostri ospiti di conoscerlo e viverlo quotidianamente. Convinti che la riscoperta del mare parta dalle acque che bagnano la nostra città.
